What are some signs that I may need crawl space encapsulation?
Crawl space humidity levels should be between 40 and 55% relative humidity. Higher than this and you may begin to notice some of the following symptoms:

What are the benefits of encapsulation?

What does the encapsulation process look like?

If encapsulation is determined to be the best solution, we move onto water damage remediation. Usually, existing crawl space insulation will need to be removed and replaced as moldy insulation cannot be safely disinfected. Once all of the damage has been repaired, we will install a drainage system or sump pump to ensure that water doesn’t build up within your home’s foundation.
Now, we’ve made it to the encapsulation process, where waterproof membranes are laid down on your found crawl space floors and walls. Any piers (such as pipes or foundation supports) will be sealed to prevent the ingress of moisture.
Finally, we conclude by installing a crawl space dehumidifier which will be plumbed to the outside of your home. This will operate on an as-needed basis to keep your crawl space humidity levels where they need to be.
